Eat Turkey on Thanksgiving Day is like Chinese eat glutinous rice dumpling (粽子)on Dragon Boat Festival (端午节)。Turkey is one of the main courses on the Thanksgiving Day dinner table. The centerpiece of contemporary Thanksgiving in the United States is a large meal, starring a large roasted turkey. Because turkey is the most common main dish of a Thanksgiving dinner, Thanksgiving is sometimes colloquially called Turkey Day. Other common complementary dishes include mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, various vegetables (such as corn, green beans, squash, and sweet potatoes).
Since 1947, or possibly earlier, the National Turkey Federation has presented the President of the United States with one live turkey and two dressed turkeys. The live turkey is pardoned and lives out the rest of its days on a peaceful farm. While it is commonly held that this tradition began with Harry Truman in 1947, the Truman Library has been unable to find any evidence for this. Still others claim that that the tradition dates back to Abraham Lincoln pardoning his son's pet turkey. These stories made Turkey popular on Thanksgiving.

Don't you know:Chinese should learn more from western cultures.Furthermore,in a way, there is no denying that we us should appreciate our parents who are not only worried about us all the time but also help us out whenever in trouble.
We are the apples of our parents' eyes,so,Thanksgiving Day can well offer us to show love to our parents!

Exactly, it just gives us a chance to look back and appreciate those who has helped us through the year.
Look at Christmas and Valentine's Day, who remember and celebrate them nowadays.

Today is Thanksgiving again. It's time to sit around the table with your family and friends, eat turkey, corn and pumpkin and reflect on the things for which you are thankful. It's also the start of the holiday seasons.
