11月11日北京奥运吉祥物五福娃正式对外公布，在人们还对这5个可爱的小娃娃品头论足，感到新鲜不已的时候，网上却已经出现了大量的以5福娃形象为基础的各种同人图。

此图在网上出现后，竟被传成五福娃是剽窃日本动漫的谣言。
　　北京奥运会吉祥物创作组组长、著名艺术家韩美林先生。当韩美林获知自己参与创作的五福娃被指抄袭日本漫画，他强烈否认，斥之为“无稽之谈”并表示愤慨。
　　韩美林说，现在有一些人批评五福娃的形象不够时尚，这是因为现在很多年轻人看惯了日本漫画形象，在他们的审美观里，认为那才是时尚。五福娃的设计，是从中国古代的五行、中国民间的虎头娃等中国传统艺术中获取灵感，就是要“土”、要“俗”，来体现五福娃的中国特色。
　　对于以五福娃为基础进行“恶搞”的造型，韩美林表示，我们都应该去爱护五福娃，这也是爱护我们中国自己的传统文化。
　　对所谓“五福娃抄袭日本漫画”的谣言，韩美林说，日本的文化里有不少就是向中国学习的，我们为什么还要绕个圈子再去抄袭、剽窃日本漫画呢？！他建议造谣者应该多去了解学习热爱中国的传统文化。

毕竟五福娃是代表我们骄傲的北京奥运会吉祥物，在其中有民族感情和尊严。漫画爱好者在合适的范围内进行善意的同人创作这是可以接受的，也可以说是对福娃的一种喜爱。但是出格的不能不说是一种侮辱一种亵渎。什么是可以调侃的，什么是绝不允许玩弄的，这点必须分清楚。
　　在我们接受越来越多的外来文化，看到其他国家发达的经济，我们是应该学习，但不能丢弃了自己的民族，自己的国家。
