What do you think if you work for foreign boss? (1人在浏览)

Hey Guys. I haven't been here for long long time. Now I work for foreign boss in Guangzhou right now. He is from Venezuela, South of America.

I thought foreignors were always nice ,but after I came to this company, everything changed. We always have to overtime. because our company is at the beginning in 2011, as a merchandiser is very busy, we have to visit factroy far away from Guangzhou ,such as Fujian, Zhejiang. We went there by bus, by train and by plane.

Life sucks. I know I shouldn't complain too much. But this work is tough, I know I am short of foreign trading on ecommerce. What should I do?

It depends on what kind of positions or job responsibilities at your job. If the position requires a lot of traveling and overtimes to meet deadline, you will have to live with it. You should know the job duties and requirements when you applied for it. It doesn't matter who your boss is. A foreigner boss can be vary. There are some good and bad bosses in any races. There is no absolute a foreigner boss will be nice. I think the key impacts are the person's personalities, education, culture background and leadership style. So, don't be surprised he is not your brown hair and blue eyes boss. If you have other choices, you don't have to stay. Life is short!

Hey Bee,thank you for your quick reply. The thing is our boss temper that is getting worse and worse. Our head office is in Caracas, Venezuela. Their native language is Spanish, because my boss knows English and Spanish well. But our company is a varies company, foreignor trading and cargo services etc. So we had a lot problem to solve everyday.
Some client order machines from the factory, and just told us we had to buy these from the factory, but didn't tell us more details. After the machine arrived Caracas, the client said it was a wrong machine. How can we slove these problems everyday? We are handling too much case on hand. I am still thinking whether it is worthy working in this company. My boss once asked me how long I had worked for my first company, I said I worked for them 6 years. So far I have been working for him only half a year.

This is a very common problem for a trading and cargo services company. The product is not what the client ordered or the shipping delay for whatever reasons. I can see your situation and feel the pressure from your boss. Maybe your boss has the same pressure neither from the client or your headquarters office. If you do everything follow the procedure and policy, this can be reducing chances for him to blame on you. You should always inform him if you don’t have enough information from the client. Let him to make the decision. If you think he is not a reasonable person, you can start thinking other places. Don't waste your time at a place you don't enjoy to work with.

发错货了，因为没有订单的详细信息，主要还是沟通问题，正如Bee所说，你可以让你老板决定，把事情简单明了的告诉老板是一种很重要的能力，如果没办法适应，跳巢也是好事，外企相当滴多啊。

okay, even he promised to raise me RMB 1000 for my basic salary. But I just wanna have a simple life. This company is going crazy, work on weekdays, business trip on weekends. Geez............. Quit already.. Damn it.
